Understand the nature of anger: Proverbs 16:32 teaches that true understanding comes from being slow to anger. It’s vital to discern that not all anger is sinful; righteous indignation against injustice is justified. However, it’s unrighteous anger that can shatter relationships and peace.

Explore the roots of your anger: Similar to Cain’s anger, our own often stems from unmet expectations or emotional wounds. Recognizing these triggers and understanding their origins is key to mastering our anger.

Gain control over anger through faith: To effectively manage anger, we’re encouraged to surrender our frustrations, bitterness, and trauma to God. By relinquishing control and offering forgiveness to those who’ve hurt us, we find freedom from the chains of anger.

By allowing God to guide our responses and leaning on His Spirit’s strength, we can conquer anger and experience the peace and self-control that a life in harmony with God brings.

Prayer

Father in heaven, thank You that we can conquer anger when we surrender control to You. Lord, we know that unrighteous anger is a part of the flesh, and when we walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh, we have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.
