“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”
If Jesus were walking the earth today, what would you ask Him?
Nicodemus, a Pharisee, had the opportunity to meet with Jesus and ask Him questions. He sought Jesus at night, afraid to be seen by others, to ask real questions about who He is and why He came. Even though Nicodemus was considered a very religious man, he wanted Jesus to solve the emptiness he still had. Jesus responds to his curiosity with, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.” Nicodemus didn’t understand Jesus’ answer but continued to address Nicodemus’ confusion.
We all have “Nicodemus moments” of doubt and questioning. Questions we are afraid to ask others and even more afraid to ask God. But don’t be fearful of coming to Jesus with your uncertainties. He already knows and wants to meet you where you are. He may not answer your questions right away, but He always wants to show you His lovingkindness.
